Yes, since I'm accredited by the Quebec government to make your union official, I'll give you a copy of the declaration to send to the Directeur de l'état civil du Québec (DEC-50) on the day of your wedding. You will then have to apply to the government for your marriage certificate, in the same way as your birth certificate, which is issued by the Registre de l'état civil.
I can perform legally binding wedding ceremonies anywhere in the province of Quebec, and symbolic ceremonies anywhere else.
Yes, you will be married under the provisions of the Civil Code of Quebec. You'll need to check the application of this law with a competent legal authority in your province or country. I'll be able to direct you to make the process easier.
A mandatory publication of the marriage notice must be posted for 20 days prior to the wedding.
In certain situations, for reasons deemed serious, it is possible to celebrate a marriage before this period has elapsed by obtaining a dispensation from publication. If you think your case may apply, please let me know.
